NeoRecormon Epoetin beta - solution for injection, 5000IU, 6 pre-filled syringes, Roche
Indications:
NeoRecormon is a clear, colourless solution for injection under the skin (subcutaneously) or into a vein (intravenously). The medicine contains a hormone called epoetin beta, which stimulates the production of red blood cells in the blood. Epoetin beta is produced by special genetic technology and works in exactly the same way as the natural hormone erythropoietin.
You should talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.NeoRecormon is indicated for:
- Treatment of symptomatic anaemia caused by chronic kidney disease (renal anaemia) in patients on dialysis or not yet on dialysis;
- Prevention of anaemia in premature newborns (weighing between 750 and 1500 g and born at less than 34 weeks);
- Treatment of anaemia and associated symptoms in adult cancer patients receiving chemotherapy;
- Treatment of patients donating blood before surgery. Epoetin beta injections increase the amount of blood that can be taken from your body before surgery and given to you during or after surgery (this is an autologous transfusion).Contraindications:

There is insufficient experience with NeoRecormon in pregnant or breast-feeding women.

The use of NeoRecormon has not shown any signs of impaired fertility in animals. The potential risk for humans is unknown.Driving and using machines:
No effects on the ability to drive or use machines have been observed.How to take:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Your doctor will use the lowest effective dose to control your symptoms of anaemia.
If you do not respond adequately to treatment with NeoRecormon, your doctor will review the dose you are taking and will advise you whether any changes to your NeoRecormon dose are necessary.
Treatment with NeoRecormon should be initiated under the supervision of a doctor.
NeoRecormon injections can then be given by your doctor or, after training, you can give yourself NeoRecormon.NeoRecormon can be injected under the skin, in the abdomen, arm or thigh, or into a vein. Your doctor will decide which is the most suitable place for you.
Your doctor will carry out blood tests at regular intervals to monitor how your anaemia is responding to treatment by measuring your haemoglobin level.
Dosage of NeoRecormon:
The dose of NeoRecormon depends on the condition of your disease, the route of administration (subcutaneously or intravenously) and your weight. Your doctor will determine the dose that is right for you. Your doctor will use the lowest effective dose to control the symptoms of your anaemia.If you do not respond adequately to treatment with NeoRecormon, your doctor will review the dose you are being given and will advise you whether any changes to your NeoRecormon dose are necessary.

Composition:
- The active substance is epoetin beta. One pre-filled syringe contains 500, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 10000, 20000 or 30000 IU (international units) of epoetin beta in 0.3 ml or 0.6 ml of solution.
- The other ingredients are: urea, sodium chloride, polysorbate 20, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate
dodecahydrate, calcium chloride dihydrate, glycine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Threonine, L-Glutamic acid and L-Phenylalanine and water for injections.
